Dancing on Ice finalist Greg Rutherford has shared a clip of the routine which caused the injury that forced the Olympian to pull out of season 16's final.

Skating with Vanessa James, the long jumper withdrew from the competition against Radio DJ Adele Roberts, Made in Chelsea's Miles Nazaire and eventual winner, Coronation Street's Ryan Thomas, the morning of the final.

Taking to Instagram, Rutherford has shared a clip of him rehearsing his Torvill & Dean choreographed showcase routine.

"This is the showcase we didn’t get the perform due to injury," Rutherford revealed. "The point where I dive through Colin and Brendyn’s legs is where everything went wrong last Sunday.

"This is from either Friday or Saturday so I was still ironing out a few timings issues (which I’m sure you will notice)," he added alongside a laughing emoji.

He continued: "I utterly loved this showcase. Everyone involved had worked so hard. Just look at the set too!! The guys behind the scenes never get enough credit, what they build in such a short amount of time is mind blowing."

Rutherford concluded his caption: "To have [Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean] choreograph a full routine for us too was so special. I loved working with them.

"Although I won’t be able to skate for maybe a couple of months. I intend on getting back on the ice and keeping it up. I really do love it."

Rutherford previously shared a health update following his departure from the series, writing, "I'm looking forward to getting everything sorted and sewn up so I can get back to normal."

The final of Dancing on Ice is available to stream on ITVX.
