The Dark Tower actor Tom Taylor shares new image from the Stephen King movie

A new image from The Dark Tower has been shared by Tom Taylor, the actor who plays the boy named Jake Chambers in the Stephen King adaptation.

It's a backlit shot of Taylor standing on dilapidated floorboards, staring through a strange doorway into a hazy light. The phrase "There are other worlds than these" is emblazoned on the image.

Readers of King's original novel in the series, The Gunslinger, will know this as the line the Jake character says to Roland the Gunslinger at a pivotal moment in the story — the first hint that this proto-mystical realm of Mid-World is just one dimension of many that are connected through the Dark Tower.

The house in which Jake is standing is known in the film as Dutch Hill, and it's actually not a house at all. It's a guardian demon, which comes to life to protect this gateway to Mid-World and points beyond. It's adapted from a scene in King's third book in the series, The Waste Land, which was first published with one of the saga's most unsettling illustrations.

The Dark Tower opens in theaters on Feb. 17, 2017.
