Deadpool & Wolverine will be the longest movie in the Deadpool franchise.

According to the Irish Film Classification Office – Ireland's equivalent of the BBFC – the third Deadpool movie will run for 127 minutes and 45 seconds. The IFCO has flagged the film for strong scenes of violence, drug use, sexual content and foul language – which is what every Deadpool fan will be expecting anyway.

This two-hour-plus run time is significantly longer than the first Deadpool film's 108 minutes and slightly lengthier than Deadpool 2's 119 minutes.

It makes sense for Deadpool & Wolverine to be the longest entrant in the series because it marks the arrival of the X-Men characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The sequel brings back the Time Variance Authority from the Loki TV show to explain how Deadpool can cross universes.

Owen Wilson reprises his Loki role as TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius, alongside Succession's Matthew Macfadyen as the agency's fixer Paradox.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the movie features Hugh Jackman as a new variant of Wolverine – so, not the same character who died in Logan.

Fans can also expect plenty of cameos from characters in the X-Men movies – including Tyler Mane's Sabretooth and Aaron Stanford as Pyro – as well as a rumoured appearance from Jennifer Garner reprising her Daredevil role as Elektra.

In short, X-Men fans can bank on a multiverse of madness unlike anything they've seen in the MCU thus far.

"We had no idea it would be this unique moment where people are asking what the MCU means any more," director Shawn Levy told Total Film recently.

"Can it surprise us? Can it break moulds in ways that we don't expect? We certainly hope that this movie is an answer to those questions."
