Death in Paradise is rumoured to have cast Oscar winner Hayley Mills for its upcoming thirteenth season.

The Pollyanna star, most recently seen in season 5 of Unforgotten, appears to be heading to Saint Marie, after teasing her involvement with the show on Instagram.

Mills took to her social media account to share a sun-soaked clip of a sprawling beach in Guadeloupe, where the series is filmed.

"Talk about a room with a view! Landed in Guadeloupe last night and look what I woke up to!" she wrote.

Hayley also shared a photo with series star Ralf Little, writing: "In Paradise with @ralf.little who is very nice and an ex footballer!"

Last month, it was confirmed that filming for the popular comedy-drama had started. However, the BBC has not yet made any guest casting announcements for season 13.

While Death in Paradise fans can look forward to a possible new arrival, a familiar face could return, as Little has opened up on a certain character's future on the show.

Taking part in an Instagram Live Q&A, when asked by a fan whether Danny John-Jules, who previously starred as Officer Dwayne Myers, could return, he said: "He came back for the last Christmas special and he was a legend.

"I used to watch Red Dwarf as a kid, so he's a real hero of mine. He's always welcome as far as I'm concerned, love him."

Elsewhere, executive producer Tim Key has addressed the future of spin-off series Beyond Paradise following its crossover with the main show in the season one finale.

"We've been blown away by the audience response to the show and are so happy that people have taken it to their hearts," he said on confirmation that Beyond Paradise will return for a second season and a festive special.

"We can't wait to get our amazing cast back together to continue the story – and to be able to pay a visit to Shipton Abbott at Christmas is even better."

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
