Death in Paradise star Ralf Little has opened up about potentially doing a Beyond Paradise spin-off, while he also said he is "loving" the extended universe of the hit show.

Death in Paradise follows a case-of-the-week format, wherein a detective solves murders in the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie. Little is currently that detective – DI Neville Parker – while previous actors have occupied the lead detective role, including Kris Marshall.

Marshall then got his own spin-off show, which follows his character, DI Humphrey Goodman, moving to Devon in the UK to be with Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton). In a Q&A with fans, Little was asked if he'd be up for doing a crossover episode with these stars.

"Yeah, totally," Little said. "I'm quite loving the fact, now that there is Beyond Paradise, there's a bit of a joke among us that like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that there is a Death in Paradise Cinematic Universe."

He then teased that he would like to see more spin-offs one day as the Death in Paradise extended universe grows. He even suggested a series set in the USA or in the Maldives.

"So, who knows? Maybe [there will be] more. Maybe there's going to be Death in the States, or Death in the Maldives would be quite nice," Little said.

In another Q&A, Little said that he would love Danny John-Jules to return to the show.

"He came back for the last Christmas special and he was a legend. I used to watch Red Dwarf as a kid, so he's a real hero of mine. He's always welcome as far as I’m concerned, love him," Little said.

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
