Desean Terry And Nikkole Salter To Adapt ‘Lines In The Dust’ Stage Play Into Film; Subject Tackles New Jersey School Residency Fraud

EXCLUSIVE: Desean Terry (The Morning Show) and Nikkole Salter (playwright, In The Continuum) are partnering to adapt and executive produce Salter’s play Lines in the Dust into a feature film under Terry’s Think Switch Entertainment banner. Terry is also set to direct.

Loosely inspired by real-life cases, Lines in the Dust shines a light on the issue of school residency fraud against the backdrop of Newark, NJ. The play, like its film adaptation, delves into this silent crime prevalent across America, particularly in communities of color. The film will tell the story of a Black woman facing prosecution for this crime, highlighting the systemic inequities and challenges faced by marginalized communities in accessing quality education for their children.
