‘Dexter: Original Sin’ Sets 9 To Recur Including Joe Pantoliano, Brittany Allen, Carlo Mendez & Jasper Lewis – Meet Dexter’s Two Moms

EXCLUSIVE: Showtime’s Dexter: Original Sin cast is adding 9 recurring characters to Season 1 to be played by Emmy winner Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos), Brittany Allen (The Boys), Randy Gonzalez (Bloodline), Aaron Jennings (Pure Genius), Raquel Justice (One Day at a Time), Jasper Lewis (V/H/S), Carlo Mendez (The Bay), Isaac Gonzalez Rossi (That’s Amor) and Roberto Sanchez (Palm Royale).

The 10-episode original drama series is set in 1991 Miami and follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson), a student refining his killer skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater). In his dad, he finds solace and understanding, especially as his bloodthirsty urges grow and can no longer be ignored. As his only confidant, Harry teaches Dexter a code that’s designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to die — all while avoiding getting caught by law enforcement. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

Pantoliano plays Mad Dog, Allen plays Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, Gonzalez plays Santos Jimenez, Jennings plays Clark Sanders, Justice plays Sofia, Lewis, Lewis plays Dexter’s adoptive mom and wife of Harry, Doris Morgan, Mendez plays Hector Estrada, Gonzalez Rossi plays Gio and Sanchez plays Tony Ferrer.

The previously announced cast also includes Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Reno Wilson, Alex Shimizu, Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Michelle Geller. Production is currently underway in Miami with Clyde Phillips at the helm.

Dexter: Original Sin is executive produced by Phillips and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Scott Reynolds also EPs alongside Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Robert Lloyd Lewis producing. Michael Lehmann will serve as directing executive producer.

Across his decades in the industry, Pantoliano has earned extensive credits in TV and film. Notably, he received the Primetime Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” for his portrayal of Ralph Cifaretto. He is also known for playing Cypher in The Matrix. Additional credits include La Bamba, Empire of the Sun, The Goonies, Memento and Bad Boys.

Allen most recently starred in Prime Video’s The Boys as Popclaw and the horror film, What Keeps You Alive.

Gonzalez is best known for his role in the series Bloodline and the action film Peppermint, starring Jennifer Garner. Recently Gonzalez appeared on Mayans MC, The Resident and The Walking Dead: Dead City, among several others.

Jennings recently starred in NBC’ Grand Crew, which ran for two seasons. Simultaneously he recurred on the series A League of Their Own. Additional credits include roles in Pure Genius be seen in The American Society of Magical Heroes.

Justice is known for her work on the television series One Day at a Time. Additional credits include roles in NBC’s Quantum Leap and the feature film Finding Tony.

Lewis is an actress, comedian and writer with years of sketch and improv experience at Pack Theater and UCB. Past credits include roles in V/H/S and As It’s Remembered.

Mendez is a Cuban American actor with notable television roles in 9-1-1, Superior Donuts, Parks and Recreation and The Real Rob. Currently, Mendez is a series regular on the Emmy-winning show The Bay.

Gonzalez Rossi most recently starred in the film That’s Amor and also recurred on Westworld in 2022.

Sanchez most recently recurred in the series Palm Royale and is currently recurring in BMF. He will next be seen in Running Point.
