There's not much missing from Dick Van Dyke's resume, but the acting legend still has a few things on his career bucket list.

After making history with a win at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards on June 7, Van Dyke, 98, tells PEOPLE that he's got an idea he's keen to see materialize.

"I was thinking of doing — 80 years in the business, I have a lot of stories to tell. I thought I'd just do a one-man show, like this," he shares. "Just sit and talk to the audience."

As for how likely such a project is to happen, the actor says, "I've got a list. I'm pretty close." His wife, Arlene Silver, adds that they're "working on it right now" as she shares that he's "gotten so many requests" to do a one-man show.

"He's got amazing stories," she says, as Van Dyke adds that he's "got a lot of funny stories" too.

The actor earned his second-ever Daytime Emmy Award for best performer in a daytime drama series for his role as Timothy Robicheaux on Days of Our Lives. In his acceptance speech, Van Dyke expressed his disbelief at the win, which he said "tops off a lifetime of 80 years in the business."

"I don't believe this. I feel like a spy from nighttime television," he said, joking that he's been "playing an old man all my life."

"If I had known I was going to live this long I would've taken better care of myself," he added.

Prior to the ceremony, he told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement that the nomination was "very exciting," noting his 75-year wait to "get on a soap opera."

"This is a very different honor for me; I seldom get recognized for dramatic or straight acting - comedy and musicals are my specialty after all," the statement continued. "I'm so honored and it will be a fun night celebrating with the entire daytime television community."
