Dicky Cheung shaves his head for a reason
23 Apr - "I wanted to prove that a bald man can be charming too," said Dicky when he was asked about his decision to shave his head many years ago.
According to On CC News, the actor, who is now known for his trademark shaved head, recently appeared on the i-Cable programme, "Star Chatroom", and talked about the moment he decided to go bald.
"A mainland producer once said that Dicky Cheung without hair isn't worth any money, so I decided to shave my head," he said.
"I needed to prove to everyone that even a bald man can be charming and make a lot of money."
Mission accomplished indeed, as the actor continued to embrace popularity for many years through various series including "Young Hero Fong Sai Yuk", "The Duke of Mount Deer", "Mr. Winner", and more.
Dicky also revealed that he once lost a lot of money during the 1997 financial crisis. However, thanks to his friends, especially Andy Lau, he was able to continue working without giving up.
