Disney+ Casts Gianna Jun & Gang Dong-won Will In Korean Spy Thriller ‘Tempest’ & Sets Anime ‘Code Geass Rozé Of The Recapture’ Release Date

Disney+ has unveiled Korean spy thriller Tempest for its 2025 slate, and revealed Japanese anime Code Geass Rozé of the Recapture will arrive on the platform on June 21.

Tempest, which will be available exclusively on Disney+ worldwide and on Hulu in the United States. Set in modern-day Korea, it follows Munju, a high-flying diplomat and former ambassador to the U.S., as well as Sanho, an international special agent. Together, they set out to uncover the truth behind an attack that threatens the future stability of the Korean peninsula.

Tempest stars A-listers Gianna Jun (also known as Jun Ji-hyun), who has headlined Kingdom, My Love from the Star and Legend of the Blue Sea, as Seo Munju, and Gang Dongwon (Broker, Peninsula) as Sanho. Gang also carries an executive producer credit on the show.

Tempest is directed by Kim Heewon, who helmed Queen of Tears, Little Women and Vincenzo. Korea’s leading martial arts director Heo Myunghaeng (The Outlaws 4) will also co-direct the show. Chung Seokyung, who penned Decision to Leave alongside veteran director Park Chan-wook, will co-write.

Code Geass Rozé of the Recapture, meanwhile, is set four years after the events of the previous Code Geass instalment, and follows two highly skilled mercenaries named Ash and Rozé. After successfully rebelling against the occupying forces of the Brittania Army, the mercenaries are recruited to work alongside a Japanese resistance group in a last-ditch attempt to repel the occupiers for good.

Code Geass Rozé of the Recapture is written by Noboru Kimura and is directed by Yoshimitsu Ohashi.
