Disney's has unveiled exciting new footage of its long-awaited live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

The clip, which you can watch below, features a brief section of Halle Bailey as Ariel singing the classic 'Part of Your World' from the original film and meeting Prince Eric (Little Women's Jonah Hauer-King).

However, Disney fans will likely be most intrigued by a pseudo post-credits scene in the trailer where they get a glimpse of Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, with the villain's signature cackle being heard.

Director Rob Marshall's remake of the classic animated musical will feature all the classic songs from Alan Menken's classic soundtrack, plus new songs from Encanto's Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The film has already received praise from Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in the animated version. The actress called Bailey's singing "amazing" and also expressed excitement for Marshall's remake.

"I'm so thankful of our friendship of over 35 years. Thank you for creating such a stunning film," Benson said of Marshall on her Instagram Stories.

Marshall has previously worked with Disney on Mary Poppins Returns and Into the Woods, and also earned a Best Director Oscar nomination for his adaptation of Chicago.

The screenplay for The Little Mermaid was penned by Life of Pi's David Magee and the Kingsman franchise's Jane Goldman.
