District 9 homeowners spend most on renovations: Qanvast

It is almost impossible to skip renovation plans after getting a new home in Singapore, and Qanvast recently revealed the average spending on a home renovation to help homeowners with their budget.

It showed HDB flat owners spend an average of $56,000 on renovations, while condominium owners spend $80,000 on average in 2014.

Landed homes owners, on the other hand, spend more than twice as much on renovations with an average of $254,000.

Certain districts also tend to spend more on renovations as Qanvast observed. Homeowners of HDB and condo units in District 23 spend an average of $50,000 on renovations, while District 9 property owners spend an average of $129,000.

Singaporeans preferred dcor theme is Modern at 35.4 percent while the Retro theme is favoured the least at 0.2 percent, according to findings from Qanvas.

Interestingly, areas with a higher count of new flats have a higher preference for Scandinavian and Eclectic dcor themes.
