Divers release 100 lobsters off Cornish coast
The Devon branch of a national diving club has released more than 100 lobsters off the coast of Cornwall.
Totnes' British Sub-Aqua Club released them on Saturday after offering to take part after a visit to the Padstow Lobster Hatchery last year.
Twenty-two members of the club were involved in the release of the "larval stage" or new born lobsters.
Adam Castle, from the club, said the project was an opportunity "to give back" to marine conservation.
He said: "We had a tour around the lobster hatchery last so we offered to do a release."
The lobsters were transported from the hatchery to Porthkerris Cove, a popular spot for divers.
When ask what the experience was like, Adam said: "It was quite something.
"It felt nice to be able to give back to marine conversation.
"The work increases the biodiversity of the area and that aides the growth of seagrass beds, where there is a whole host of marine life.
"The lobsters will increase the life in the reeds there."
Adam said there would be discussions about whether the club carried out similar works in the future and while underwater the team did some site surveying.
