DJ Ah Dong leaves UFM 100.3

10 Jun - Singapore's Chinese-language radio station UFM 100.3 has just lost two more DJs, Ah Dong and Jian Wen this month, following the departure of Lim Leng Kee and Luo Ke Min earlier this year.

According to a report by China Press, Ah Dong's temporary departure is due to his plans to pursue a master degree in radio broadcasting at Goldsmiths, University of London.

He explained that "I'm not a broadcasting graduate. I faced some difficulties when I wanted to propose some of my new ideas to the [radio station's] management level. In light of this, I think I should get out from my comfort zone."

About his achievements in UFM 100.3, Ah Dong said he feels proud of his night time programme named "Night Got Feel" and another unnamed jazz music show.

The 28-year-old deejay added that he cannot bear to lose his fans, as his precious moments are his interactions with his listeners. He also said he will miss his listeners during his one-and-a-half-year hiatus.

DJ Ah Dong joined UFM 100.3, a radio station under the arm of SPH UnionWorks, in 2006. He first started as a part-timer, but was offered a full-time contract in 2010.
