Doctor Who season 14 spoilers follow.

The BBC has revealed who Fleabag's Sian Clifford will play in Doctor Who's season 14 finale.

An official BBC listing for the finale episode, 'Empire of Death', credits Clifford with playing a character mysteriously known only as 'Kind Woman'.

The episode is set to premiere first on streaming services BBC iPlayer and Disney+ internationally on Saturday, June 22, at midnight. It will then air terrestrially on BBC One that night at 6.40pm.

Here's the official synopsis for 'Empire of Death': "The Doctor has lost, his ageless enemy reigns supreme, and a shadow is falling over creation. Nothing can stop the devastation... except, perhaps, one woman."

While there's not much to go off of with the character's name, it seems unlikely Doctor Who would be casting an actor of Clifford's calibre unless 'Kind Woman' is significant.

Clifford is perhaps best known for playing Phoebe Waller-Bridge's on-screen sister Claire in Fleabag — a role that won her a BAFTA TV Award and earned her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. She has since had leading roles in ITV dramas Vanity Fair and Quiz, and she has recurred in His Dark Materials.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies has promised that viewers will get answers about the origins of companion Ruby Sunday in the two-part finale.

Davies has penned 'Empire of Death', with recurring guest stars Bonnie Langford (Mel Bush), Jemma Redgrave (Kate Stewart), Yasmin Finney (Rose Noble) and, of course, Susan Twist (Susan Triad) all appearing in the season-ender.

The episode also brings back Ruby's extended family — Michelle Greenidge and Angela Wynter as Carla and Cherry Sunday, as well as EastEnders legend Anita Dobson as their unusual neighbour Mrs Flood.
