Dancing on Ice spoilers follow.

Dancing on Ice star Amber Davies has responded to fan backlash after securing a place in the semi-final of the dancing series.

Last night's (February 25) episode saw Amber clinch a place in the final after a tense skate-off during Guilty Pleasures Week, which saw Eddie the Eagle eliminated.

Amber's confirmation as a semi-finalist left fans divided on social media, with some viewers claiming the reality star's routine was overmarked by judges, had too many lifts and didn't have enough solo skating compared to other contestants.

She has now reacted to the backlash on her Instagram Story, sharing the original Dancing on Ice post and writing: "These comments are wild," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.

Going on to reflect on her skating journey across the series, Amber continued: "I never in a million years thought I'd be a semi-finalist!!

"I couldn't skate five months ago! Very proud of myself!! And so grateful for this whole experience."

Former Love Island star Amber and professional partner Simon Proulx-Sénécal had scored an impressive 38.0 out of 40 for their ABBA-themed routine. However, their high-scoring performance wasn't enough for the pair to avoid the dance-off for the second week in a row.

To secure their place in the semi-final Amber and Simon skated to 'Power' by Little Mix, gaining them three votes from guest judge Johnny Weir, Jayne Torvill and the episode's head judge Christopher Dean.

Last month Amber gave fans an insight into her training regime for the series, calling it "the definition of blood, sweat and tears."

"When I tell you today was the definition of blood, sweat and tears. Literally all 3," she told fans in a video shared to her Instagram, adding: "I am in need of a hot bath. Potentially another cry. And 100% vodka, on the rock straight, no mixer.

"@dancingonice you're amazing but my goodness you're pushing me to my limits."
