Donald Trump Reportedly Questions Taylor Swift’s Support for Joe Biden in Meeting With House Republicans: ‘Why Would She Endorse This Dope?’

Donald Trump can’t stop talking about Taylor Swift.

In a meeting with the Republican members of the House of Representatives on Thursday morning, Trump reportedly questioned Swift’s support of President Joe Biden, according to CNN Capitol Hill reporter Melanie Zanona.

“In meeting with House Rs, Trump attacked DOJ as ‘dirty no good bastards’ and questioned Taylor Swift’s support for Biden,” Zanona wrote in a post on X. “‘Why would she endorse this dope,’ Trump said, per members in room. ‘He doesn’t know how to get off a stage.'”

Trump and Biden are set to face off for a second time in this year’s presidential election. Trump, who served as the 45th president before Biden took over in January 2021, was found guilty on May 31 of 34 charges of falsifying business records in connection with a payout to porn actress Stormy Daniels on the eve of the 2016 election.

It seems Trump’s bad blood with the pop star has continued to be top of mind since Variety broke the news this week that he called Swift “unusually beautiful” but “liberal” in an excerpt from co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh’s forthcoming book “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass.”

Trump also questioned Swift’s support of Biden in the excerpt, saying: “She is liberal, or is that just an act? She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal.”

But Swift — who had previously been rumored to be a secret Republican before publicly endorsing Tennessee Democratic candidates in 2018 and later Biden in 2020 — has made her feelings about Trump known, taking aim at the former president during the George Floyd protests that same year.

“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November,” she tweeted at Trump.

Swift has not yet endorsed a candidate for the 2024 election.
