Donnie Yen takes charge as matchmaker

18 Dec – Donnie Yen, who was a special guest at Richie Jen's recent Taipei concert, caught the singer-actor by surprise when he urged him to marry long-time girlfriend, Tina, on the stage.

Donnie, shedding his kungfu master image for the night, played the piano on stage. Richie was not prepared when the action star suddenly changed the tune to "The Wedding March", claiming he was on a special mission that night.

"Aren't we supposed to be attending Richie and Tina's wedding tonight? She's been by your side for so many years, waiting for you. Maybe it's time you tell the world how you really feel," said Donnie.

Richie then responded by declaring his promise to wed Tina who was present at the concert with their two children.

"I know I owe you a wedding. We'll have the ceremony immediately after I'm done with my world tour," he promised.

Richie revealed in a celebration after his Taipei concert that he had previously planned to have the wedding in Redang island in Malaysia as the crowd is not big there and Tina has not visited the place before.

He added that he hopes the media would give him some personal space as he hopes for it to be a family affair.

Richie and Tina had previously registered in the United States in 2002 during his world tour there. In 2005, she gave birth to his daughter, Rati, and later his son, Cody, was born in 2008.
