SINGAPORE — Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen will be coming to Singapore next month on 9-10 Dec to promote his upcoming film, Ip Man 4: The Finale.

Shaw Theatres announced Yen’s visit here on social media. No details of the nature of his activities in Singapore have been provided so far. Shaw Theatres said that they would release more information subsequently.

Ip Man 4: The Finale will be released in cinemas on 20 December. In this instalment, Ip Man, played by Yen, will travel to the US after his disciple, Bruce Lee encounters trouble while trying to start his martial arts school.

Other stars in the film include Chan Kwok-kwan, who reprises his role as Bruce Lee in Ip Man 3, as well as Vanness Wu and Scott Adkins.

Another huge action star, Jackie Chan, will reportedly make a special appearance in Ip Man 4 in a fight scene with Ip Man.

The popular action film franchise is based on the life of Ip Man, the real-life master of the Chinese martial art, Wing Chun. Director Wilson Yip and action choreographer Yuen Wo Ping returned to helm Ip Man 4.

Yen said in September that he was playing Ip Man for the final time in this film, which will also be the last film in the series.
