Dota 2's 2022 Battle Pass is finally here, bringing with it a collection of new features for players such as new Arcanas and Immortals for heroes, Chat wheel sounds, fun consumables, and a whole lot more.

The 2022 Battle Pass also directly contributes to the prize pool for The International 11 (TI11), this year's iteration of Dota 2's annual marquee tournament.

As with previous years, developer Valve Software has pledged 25% of all Battle Pass sales prior to the conclusion of TI11 to contribute to the tournament's prize pool.

The 2022 Battle Pass is also split into two parts, with Part 1 running until 2 November.

Part 2 of the Battle Pass will run from 3 November to 12 January 2023 and will feature additional content.

With so many new features, we're highlighting our favorite parts of the new Dota 2 Battle Pass:

New Arcanas, Personas, and Immortals

The 2022 Battle Pass comes with Arcanas for Faceless Void and Razor, along with Personas for Crystal Maiden and Phantom Assassin.

Primal Beast, the latest hero to be inducted into Captain's Mode, also receives his first set of cosmetics in the form of a Prestige bundle.

The new Arcanas bring Faceless Void and Razor closer to how they looked back in the original DotA 1 mod for WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne.

Valve did this before with Wraith King, releasing an Arcana for the hero that followed his original look as the Skeleton King.

The Faceless Void Arcana features an all-new model, assets, and voice lines for the hero as well as custom animations for his abilities and items, such as Mask of Madness, Maelstrom, and Mjollnir.

The Arcana also has a second style, which can be unlocked by getting 250 kills or assists from enemies dying during Chronosphere in games you've won.

The Faceless Void Arcana and Phantom Assassin Persona will be available in Part 1 while the Razor Arcana and Crystal Maiden Persona will be available in Part 2.

All the Arcanas and Personas will require some serious investment to acquire, as they are all locked behind Battle Pass levels.

Crystal Maiden's Persona is the earliest to get at level 148, while Faceless Void requires level 495 to unlock, easy to achieve after selling a kidney.

New taunts to infuriate your opponents

Did you ever want to skate over your enemies as Bloodseeker? Or remind anyone why Tidehunter is called Watermelon? How about taking to the dance floor as Chen or Abaddon?

Well now you can! Thanks to the 2022 Battle Pass, five heroes received some fantastic new taunts in Part 1, while five others will get theirs when Part 2 arrives.

All the new taunts have wonderful animations, but our favourite has to be Abaddon's. Having the solemn Lord of Avernus get off his high horse and start dancing is just too hilarious. It takes 531 Battle pass levels to unlock all the taunts this year.

A new music pack by Garry Schyman

Since 2014, every TI has had a music pack attached to it and this year is no exception. The TI11 music pack is composed by Garry Schyman, who worked on multiple other titles such as Bioshock, Dante's Inferno, and the Shadow of Mordor series.

The music pack is tense and evokes feelings of facing the final boss in an RPG. It's the perfect symphony to have in the late game and well suited to bring the feeling of competing in TI11 to the pub scene.

Double Down tokens are back

Another way to make pub games a little more intense is to use Double Down tokens. These tokens double the potential gain or loss for the player who uses them, making each match feel like a TI final.

Players can Double Down after the picking phase is done and choose to announce it publicly if they want. Double Downs work in ranked games and should only be used in games players are confident they win, so use those Tokens wisely.

These are just some of the features released in Part 1 of the Battle Pass. For a full list of the rewards, check out the official Dota 2 2022 Battle Pass page.
