The Derricos love a good snow day — even if it takes a lot of prepwork!

In PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek at this week’s Doubling Down with the Derricos episode, Karen shares her and Deon’s "divide and conquer" method to get 14 children ready during a ski trip to Mt. Charleston.

“So for us to get ready to get out here into the snow, it’s a lot of work,” Karen says in a confessional as the family is shown on vacation. “So, divide and conquer. That’s the method that Derrico and I always use.”

The family of multiples is then seen dressing for the cold, with several coats laid out on a bed, before they head out into the snow.

“Derrico has the boys. I have the girls,” Karen explains.

“You look like a little firefighter,” Deon then tells his 4-year-old triplet Dyver as he puts a pair of yellow snow pants on the child.

Returning to the confessional scene, Karen explains that she “normally” will “try to give us three hours” to comfortably get ready “because it’s a constant production going on.”

Meanwhile, Karen is shown with her girls, putting on snow boots for triplet Dawysn.

“How [does] your foot feel? Good?” the mother of 14 asks as the little girl smiles and nods her head “yes.”

Still getting the family together, Deon announces that “everyone needs to make sure they’ve urinated, so once this snowsuit goes on, Poppy don’t wanna take it back off.”

Karen refers to the process of one of their outings as “very, very time consuming.” In a scene with one of her daughters, she catches her breath after dressing the child, saying that she’s “wore out.”

During her confessional, Karen jokes that she and Deon should have gotten the kids ready the night before, and had them sleep in their snow gear to cut down on the time it took to get everyone dressed the day of.

Now, with everyone finally dressed, Deon checks one last time to see if any of the kids need to use the restroom before the family of 16 heads out for their adventure.

All of his daughters are fine, however, the same cannot be said for his sons.

“I need to go!” one of the youngest of the bunch says as he hops off of the sofa and runs to the restroom.

“Oh, my God, little boy,” Deon says.

Per an official synopsis, in addition to their “divide and conquer” snow day method, season 5 also shows the parents “entering a new and challenging phase of parenthood with their eldest, Darian, prepping for college.”

“At the same time, the house is teeming with teenage and pre-teen boy energy with thirteen-year-old Derrick, twelve-year-old twins Dallas and Denver, and ten-year-olds Deniko and Dariz,” the description adds.

Karen and Deon can also be seen house hunting, which doesn’t make their already busy lives any easier.
