Drew Barrymore Recalled the Sweet Moment Daughter Olive Tried on Her Wedding Dress
And she's saving the special gown for when her girls walk down the aisle.
It won't be a while until either of Drew Barrymore's daughters — 11-year-old Olive and 9-year-old Frankie — get married, but the actress at least has an idea of what one of her girls might look like when it's time for them to walk down the aisle.
During an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show on April 1, the talk show host revealed that Olive gave her a heavy dose of nostalgia and surprised her one day by trying on her dress from her 2012 wedding to ex-husband Will Kopelman.
"The other night, I came home, and I was told that Olive has a surprise for me," Barrymore said. "And so I came in the room and she was standing there in my wedding dress. And I looked at her, and I was like, 'Oh my God, you look so beautiful.'"
She continued, "I go, 'That's actually technically the second time you wore that dress because you were six months in my belly when I wore it. And I'm saving it for you and your sister.'"
Barrymore's wedding gown was a custom Chanel designed by Karl Lagerfeld. It featured ruffles, a black sash, and feathers. Barrymore and Kopelman said "I do" on June 2, 2012, in the backyard of their home in Montecito, California.
Speaking of the nuptials in a 2013 interview with Oprah, Barrymore revealed that Olive had been in mind with every step of the wedding. She explained, "I wanted Olive to look in the backyard one day if we're lucky enough to keep this house and be like, 'We got married right there, and you were there in my stomach.'"
Kopelman and Barrymore share Olive and Frankie together. The pair ended their marriage in 2016.
