Dua Lipa Fell Asleep in a Bar Bathroom After 'Day Drinking' with Seth Meyers: 'I Just Wasn't Prepared'

"I'm very happy that I get to live another day," Lipa told Meyers, reflecting on their ill-fated day drinking segment on 'Late Night'

If you give Dua Lipa too many drinks, she will disappear like Houdini — though she might fall asleep first.

During an interview on Tuesday's episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the "Dance the Night" singer revealed she wound up sleeping on a bar bathroom floor after day drinking with the talk show host for a hilarious segment last month.

Recalling their experience on set, Meyers explained that his production team offers celebrities who participate in the day drinking segments to switch from shots of alcohol to water halfway through filming. Lipa, however, wanted to stick to liquor.

"It's not something I like to brag about, but I think I'm a good drinker," said the 28-year-old Grammy winner. "I just wasn't prepared for what was waiting for me."

Lipa said the pair drank several shots of "gin, vodka, rum, tequila" within about 45 minutes of filming, after which she needed a rest: "I was smoking cigarettes at the time — I’ve stopped, I’ve quit, guys — but I was like, ‘Alright, I’m just going to have a cigarette. That will sort me out.’”

Upon returning from her smoke break, she began to experience dizziness. "I was like, ‘I’m just gonna pop to the bathroom. I'm sure I'm gonna be completely fine,’" said Lipa. "And I fall asleep right there."

Meyers, 50, said the bar's bathroom didn't look like a great place to sleep, but Lipa didn't care in that moment: “It wasn’t a luxury bedroom, but for some reason everything felt comfortable. I was very cozy.”

It wasn't until later in the day that Lipa gathered her memories and realized exactly what happened.

“The only thing I remember after that point is the fact that I woke up in my bed," she explained. "I just have this vision of my assistant — she saved my life — but all I heard was her telling my security, ‘John, get the wheelchair!’ I was full rag doll. I don’t remember a thing. It was amazing, and I woke up like two hours later. I was like, 'What happened?'"

Lipa and Meyers then had a FaceTime call to debrief on the experience — and the SNL alum was also already in bed.

At the end of the day drinking segment, which aired on Late Night last month, Lipa declared she could "barely see straight." A message then appeared on the screen, explaining that Meyers was told Lipa needed more time to get ready before she ultimately disappeared.

He recalled the "New Rules" performer's abrupt exit in the conversation on Tuesday's Late Night episode.

"People kept coming up and being like, 'Dua just needs five more minutes.' I'm like, 'Great.' And then someone was like, 'She just needs 10 more minutes,'" said Meyers. "I'm like, 'You bet. Dua's gonna be great! And then they were like, 'Hey, uh, she's gone.' And I'm like, 'What!?’”
