Eagles Players Say Bills Game Wasn’t the First Time They Saw Jason Kelce Chugging Beers Shirtless (Exclusive)
Wide receivers DaVonta Smith and AJ Brown tell PEOPLE that Kelce is "truly the captain" of their NFL team
When Jason Kelce jumped into a crowd of Bills fans — sans shirt — to chug beers in Buffalo, his Philadelphia Eagles teammates DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown weren't surprised by the shirtless shenanigans.
Smith, 25, and Brown, 26, tell PEOPLE that the viral moment during the Chiefs game in Buffalo was far from the first time they've seen Kelce, 36, chug beers shirtless.
"I've been around him long enough," Smith says. "He'll do that a couple of times."
And when Brown and Smith have witnessed Kelce's epic party skills in the past, he's similarly usually the only one stripping down. "He's alone there," Brown laughs.
Smith chimes in, "Yeah, that's all him."
Beyond being the life of the party, Smith and Brown call the Eagles center a strong leader for their NFL team.
"He's truly the captain," Smith tells PEOPLE of the New Heights podcast host. "There's not much that he doesn't have a say over, and a guy that's been doing it that long at that high of a level, you can do nothing but respect it."
Brown, who came to the Eagles in 2022, says, "I'm glad I got to share the field and the locker room with him. He's a great person. Most importantly, great leader, great captain, like DeVonta said, he's really the captain."

And although the Eagles won't compete in the big game on Feb. 11, Smith and Brown are looking forward to watching the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.
The wide receivers also reminisced on their most emotional — in good and bad ways — Super Bowl moments as fans.
For Smith, he recalls the New Orleans Saints winning it all in 2010. "I was happy crying," he shares.
Brown says his most memorable Super Bowl ended in tears as well, but not happy ones. "I remember one that broke my heart — I was a big Patriots fan, and I had a Super Bowl party. The dude from the New York Giants caught the ball off his helmet, and I kind of cried that day."
