The day went from bad to worse when Ben immediately got another call from the detective handling the rape case against his attacker, Lewis.

The detective explained that the investigators had ultimately decided to drop the charges against Lewis. The whole situation understandably turned Ben's mood sour and he lashed out at Callum.

Later in the day, Lola was up to her matchmaking by trying to convince Callum to attend Lexi's recital too, but he turned her down by saying it was too late to try to put their family back together.

When she caught up with Ben at the pub, Ben admitted he'd lashed out at Callum but stopped short of revealing the news he'd received about Lewis.

Callum did turn up for the recital where Ben explained he'd had "a bit of bad news" and didn't mean to lash out at his estranged husband earlier.

Jay interrupted with some instructions from Lola for the family to put on special outfits for Lexi's performance. They had no idea Lola was having a seizure in the loo at that very moment.

The family will now shift their focus to Lola as she is diagnosed with a brain tumour and must undergo testing to find out if the tumour is cancerous.

Will Ben be able to confide in Callum about his news in light of this new tragedy?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
