EastEnders boss on summer storylines and flashforward clue
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw has previewed the upcoming storylines to watch out for this summer.
The Slater family will be taking centre stage over the coming months as the truth about Theo is revealed, while there are new stories for Freddie and Alfie in the pipeline as well.
Chris also urged fans to keep their eyes peeled for a flashforward clue during Kathy and Rocky's wedding episodes.
Speaking at an EastEnders press event, Chris said: "We have a big Slater summer with the intentions behind Theo, which will be revealed.
"Freddie will finally find out the truth about his dad. There’s going to be a tough road ahead for Alfie.
"We also have Rocky and Kathy’s nuptials and there is an unexpected guest who happens to arrive. And watch out for the cufflinks around these episodes…"
Chris also teased some further twists when Cindy heads back to Walford, as she comes face to face with Ian's mum Kathy.
Michelle Collins is making a full-time return to the show alongside Adam Woodyatt as Ian. Thomas Law is also back as Peter, having previously played the character from 2006 to 2010.
"Cindy is a little softer through everything that has gone on", Chris said. "But what comes quite apparent later in the year when she returns to Walford is that it doesn’t take long before we see flashes of the old Cindy Beale. She still has it and there’s some absolute dynamite between Cindy and Kathy.
"It doesn’t take long and it’s still the same Cindy at the core, she’s just been on one hell of a journey since we last saw her."
