EastEnders confirms Christmas story for Kat Slater and Phil Mitchell

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has laid out the future for Kat Slater and Phil Mitchell, after their relationship hit some turbulence thanks to the ordeal with Keeble and the gun.

In scenes set to air next week, Kat and Phil agree to postpone their wedding until Christmas Day. Seeing as that's often the most dramatic day of the year in Albert Square, we'd say they are definitely playing with fire there, but could it be any more of a disaster than the last time they tried to get married?

We imagine Alfie Moon and Sharon Watts will have something say about it...

Also in the scenes, Stacey tries to distract Eve Unwin from Suki and Nish Panesar in the Queen Vic following their heartbreaking conversation, but it all gets too much and an emotional Eve leaves the pub. Is Suki ever going to break free of Nish and admit her true feelings for Eve?

These moments will air as part of EastEnders' anniversary episode, airing next Monday, February 20.

Meanwhile, Patsy Kensit has confirmed that she has filmed the last scenes of her short stint as Emma Harding, posting on Instagram: "Cannot thank my amazing cast members at the simply awesome experience I've had working on @eastenders for being so kind and loving to me.
