EastEnders' Danny Walters heaps praise on co-star Letitia Dean

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Keanu actor Danny Walters has piled on the praise for his on-screen partner Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts on the long-running BBC soap.

Walters and Dean have worked together closely for a number of years now after their characters struck up an intense relationship, which is set to reignite with Keanu's return to the Square.

Walters has now spoken about what a "joy" it is to work with Dean so closely and how much he is enjoying their scenes and storylines together.

"It's a joy, it's an absolute joy to work with her. I'm very lucky to work with such a professional, and such a beautiful human being on-screen and off-screen, it's just an absolute joy to work with her," Walters said.

Sharon and Keanu will see their romance blossom again this week as they will share a moment of passion together. However, trouble will lie ahead when Sharon hears a voice note from Sam Mitchell on Keanu's phone hinting at another romance.

The two will try to reconcile as Sharon will admit that she still very much loves Keanu and he will do his utmost to make amends but it is unclear where the two lovers are headed. Walters himself doesn't know much about what may happen between Sharon and Keanu either.

"I don't actually know too much, I guess that's in the writers' and the producers' hands. But as it stands, I'm really enjoying the work that myself and Tish [Letitia Dean] are putting out, and it's always a joy to work with Letitia," Walters added.

"We have so much fun on set. It's professional, it's fun, and the characters work really well together. It's a joy to work with her, but what happens in the future... we shall see. It also depends on what the fans want and what the audience want to see."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
