EastEnders' Denise Fox makes a confession in early iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode, which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. This article contains storyline details that some viewers may prefer to avoid until the episode has aired on TV.

EastEnders' Denise Fox made a worrying confession to her killer ex Lucas Johnson in the show's latest episode.

Don Gilet has reprised his role as Lucas for Denise's sad story and made another appearance in Tuesday's (February 20) visit to Walford, which is already available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Viewers know that Lucas is currently serving another prison sentence and Denise paid him a visit there last month, convinced he was the only person who could help her now.

Denise is currently experiencing a devastating breakdown in the wake of the events at Christmas, and has been having disturbing hallucinations of Keanu.

Denise's behaviour continued to spark major concern in today's scenes as she became convinced that Linda's son Johnny was out to get her as well.

Johnny is on a mission to find out who took the murder weapon after it mysteriously went missing, and called round at Denise's house to get answers.

This only served to make matters worse as a terrified Denise rushed out of the back door and hid in a bush.

Stacey managed to get Denise inside, where Yolande and Pastor Clayton arrived to give Denise counsel.

However, Stacey – who is recognising the signs of Denise's behaviour – insisted that Denise needed to see a psychiatrist.

She also urged Jack not to give up on his marriage now, worried that this would only make the situation worse.

Johnny, meanwhile, started to wonder if Denise had taken the murder weapon and planned to hand herself in for a lighter sentence.

Linda quickly pointed out that the police would have come for her already if that was the case, and told Johnny that she couldn't go to prison.

As the remaining Six women all pondered what Denise's situation would mean for their secret, they were unaware that Denise had gone back to see Lucas, and was dangerously close to confessing.

At the prison, Lucas urged a distressed Denise to "unburden her soul", prompting her to start reflecting on the events of Christmas Day evening.

Denise then told a horrified Lucas that she "buried him" and "put him in the ground" – but what will he do with this information now?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
