EastEnders' Denise Fox to go missing in devastating scenes

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Denise Fox will go missing next week, as her mental health story continues.

Denise has been struggling to cope since the events of Christmas Day, and the additional anxiety that her necklace has been buried with Keanu's body.

More recently, Denise has visited her killer ex Lucas in prison, and begun having some disturbing hallucinations about Keanu.

Upcoming scenes will see Denise's story reach a peak, as she continues having hallucinations, which she believes are real.

Stacey goes to see her to voice Amy’s concerns about bipolar, but Denise tries to brush it off.

However, when Denise finally begins to talk about what she’s seeing and hearing, Stacey recognises the signs and realises she is experiencing psychosis. Worried, she tries to convince Denise to see a doctor.

Ricky is concerned as well and becomes convinced Denise is having a breakdown when he overhears her saying strange things.

Amy insists Denise just needs to sleep, but the situation intensifies when Denise rushes out of the back door and hides in a bush.

Stacey manages to get Denise inside, where Yolande and Pastor Clayton arrive to give Denise some support.

Stacey isn't sure this is enough and tries to convince to the others that Denise needs to see a psychiatrist. They are all unaware that Denise has gone back to see the only person she believes can help her now – Lucas.

At the prison, Lucas also becomes very worried by Denise’s behaviour and the things she is saying.

Denise later arrives home in an agitated state and frightens the life out of Amy and Ricky.

She explains she must get far away to keep them safe and grabs the car keys.

Amy convinces Denise to let her go as well and they drive off, leaving Ricky desperately trying to reach Jack.

As Stacey talks to Jack about their relationship, their conversation is interrupted when Lucas calls him to share his fears about Denise.

Meanwhile, Denise and Amy drive at high speed through a wooded area, until Denise stops the car and rushes off into the night.

Amy is left distraught over the events of the evening and word soon reaches Walford about Denise's disappearance.

A search party is immediately coordinated, but will anyone be able to find Denise?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
