EastEnders drops flashforward clue in new scenes

EastEnders spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (July 13), which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders drops a huge clue about the flashforward death mystery in today's episode (July 13).

Back in February, viewers were transported through to Christmas with a glimpse of a brand new story involving six of Walford's much-loved matriarchs – Denise, Sharon, Linda, Kathy, Suki and Stacey.

The women were all faced with a dead male body, but the only definitive clue we really have so far regarding the victim is that he was wearing a distinguishing pair of cufflinks.

Show boss Chris Clenshaw had previously urged fans to keep their eyes peeled for the cufflinks during Kathy and Rocky's wedding episodes.

Sure enough, Thursday's episode – which sees Rocky and Kathy enjoy their respective stag and hen nights – shows the cufflinks being passed around in a game of poker.

In The Boxing Den, the stags put their plans into action by wrapping Rocky in clingfilm and then unleashing a stripper on him.

They later have a poker game arranged by Nish, where the stakes get out of control.

Rocky can’t resist Nish’s goading and gets carried away, risking his future happiness with Kathy in the process.

Fans will have to tune in today's episode – which is already available to watch on BBC iPlayer – to find out just what Rocky does, but he's forced to own up to his actions when his wedding day arrives next week.

During the game, Nish also puts his cufflinks on the table – but which of the stags ends up with them?

Last month, Kellie Bright – who plays Linda – promised that viewers would be getting more clues about the murder in the summer, saying that things will "ramp up come September time going into the autumn".

She said: "There are little things happening, we're working on episodes for July now and I know there's something being filmed at the moment that involves a little clue..."

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
