EastEnders' George Knight to hide a worrying secret from his family

EastEnders spoilers follow.

George Knight will hide a worrying secret from his family in EastEnders.

This week's episodes have seen George and his dad Eddie once again at odds as the murder trial for the Vic barman's father looms.

Eddie most recently threatened George to stay away from court, even though his wife Gloria had urged her son to follow his heart.

Viewers will know that George is set to face a huge moral dilemma in the week ahead as his mother's health takes a turn for the worse.

In upcoming scenes, George tries to call his estranged son Junior but is sent straight to voicemail. The barman is then called to a secret meeting with his dad to discuss Gloria's health.

However, the pair only end up exchanging harsh words that send George further into heartache. He decides once again to take out his pain by heading off to an underground fight club.

This time, Phil Mitchell realises what George is doing and intends to intervene. Phil desperately tries to convince George that he's only making matters worse.

George is determined to see through his plan, only to be knocked out in yet another vicious fight. The next time viewers will catch up with George, he'll be waking up battered and bruised on Phil's sofa.

George realises he's going to have to explain himself to his family, so he makes up a story about being mugged to protect his secret.

The Vic barman turns his attention back to his father, but they have yet another volatile encounter that leaves George emotionally wounded as well as physically hurt.

Elaine makes the decision not to push George for answers, leaving his ex-wife Cindy alone to try to figure out what's going on.

Before long, Cindy and Phil are off to the underground fight club to stop George from another brawl. They arrive just in time to see the bouncers turning George away.

Cindy tries to talk some sense into George during a heart-to-heart conversation at The Boxing Den — but can she get through to him?
