EastEnders' Jack grows closer to Stacey amid troubles with Denise

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Jack Branning grows closer to Stacey Slater later this month, providing a welcome distraction amid problems in his marriage to Denise Fox.

The pair have been bonding recently as they're both grandparents to Ricky and Lily's baby daughter Charli. However, their friendship briefly hit a hurdle this week when Stacey confessed to lying about the circumstances surrounding Freddie Slater's attack on Theo Hawthorne.

In the run-up to the festive period, Jack and Stacey unite for a Christmas shopping trip.

Stacey mentions her lack of funds, so Jack kindly steps in by purchasing some Christmas presents for her children.

Meanwhile, Denise's sister Kim notices that all is not well in her relationship with Jack.

Kim gifts Denise by arranging for her to enjoy a child-free evening, as well as new underwear in the hope that it can help to reignite the spark with Jack.

Sadly, things don't go to plan when Jack overhears Denise talking to show newcomer Priya Nandra-Hart about her affair with Ravi Gulati earlier this year.

Jack is not amused by the conversation, which reminds him of Denise's betrayal all over again.

The police detective is drawn back to Stacey when she expresses fears that stalker Theo could be targeting her again.

Jack searches Stacey's house and assures her that she's safe, especially as Theo is hundreds of miles away in Scotland.

Stacey is grateful for Jack's support, but she soon says the wrong thing when she admits that she recently called Theo and threatened him. She explains that she made the call because she was worried that Theo could have harmed Eve Unwin, who is missing.
