EastEnders' Janine and Mick discover pregnancy complications

Janine Butcher is facing pregnancy complications in EastEnders.

This latest episode picked up in the aftermath of Janine's tumble down the stairs at the tube station, where she'd fallen directly on her stomach.

Tuesday's instalment saw Sharon once again trying to smooth things over between the Carters when she encouraged Mick to be more sensitive about his new relationship around ex-wife Linda.

Mick later got caught up in the hype around football, so misplaced his phone when Linda, who saw Janine being lifted into the ambulance, desperately tried to call him.

Linda ended up being the one by Janine's side through her ordeal, forcing her to miss her scheduled check-in with probation officer Murray.

Murray soon turned up at the Vic to warn a stunned Mick that Linda could have her probation revoked if she missed another of their scheduled meetings.

Shirley was the one to eventually find Mick's phone, leading to heart-wrenching scenes as Mick discovered that Janine's pregnancy was now at risk because of her tumble.

Mick rushed to the hospital to be by Janine' side, just as their doctor arrived with results of the initial scan.

While their baby was still alive, the doctor warned there could be serious complications, including a possible partial placental abruption that could mean a stillbirth or foetal distress, among numerous possible complications.

The situation is set to take an even more disturbing turn in upcoming episodes when Janine tells a shocking lie in order to cover her tracks.

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour.
