EastEnders' Lauren Branning to be given warning over Peter reunion

EastEnders’ Lauren Branning is set to be warned about reuniting with her ex Peter Beale in new scenes.
This New Year, viewers have seen Lauren return to Walford along with her cousin Penny – in rather dramatic circumstances.
Ahead of their flight from Paris to London, Penny hid a supply of drugs in Lauren’s bag, leading to Lauren getting arrested on their arrival in the UK.
As Lauren was faced with a long prison sentence, Penny eventually told the truth, agreeing to cooperate with the police about the drug dealers she was involved with.

Lauren was released from prison and returned to the Square, where she reunited with ex Peter, with whom she co-parents their son Louie.
Their reunion was soon soured though after Lauren found out that Peter knew Penny was behind the drug smuggling and left her in the dark about it.
Lauren initially intended to leave with Louie straight away, struggling with the memories Walford brought back of her late sister Abi as well as Peter's sister and her best friend Lucy. However, she decided to stick around for a bit longer after finding out that Linda’s daughter Annie, whose biological father is Max Branning, is in fact her half-sister.
Lauren was then shocked again to discover that Peter knew the truth about Annie, but didn't tell her.

In scenes that will air next week, the pair are on decidedly much better terms. Peter helps Lauren and Penny move into their new flat, marking a more permanent Walford return, though the exes grapple with the idea of rekindling their relationship.
Peter's mum Cindy, who has previously clashed with Lauren, overhears Peter and Ian discussing getting back together, and decides to take matters into her own hands.

Cindy finds Lauren and encourages her to rethink restarting a relationship with Peter in a bid to protect her son from getting his heart broken in the future.
