EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders is set to move temporarily to BBC Two next month as part of a Wimbledon schedule shake-up.

The tennis Championships are due to kick off on Monday, July 3, with matches airing on BBC One.

As such, EastEnders will move to BBC Two from that Monday – though such schedule changes are not uncommon during sports season over the summer.

Elsewhere, the show aired a major twist this week with the returns of Michelle Collins as Cindy Beale – who was revealed as George's missing wife Rose Knight – and Adam Woodyatt as Ian Beale.

Speaking about keeping the returns secret, EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw said: "We wanted them to be called George and Mildred, but it didn't really work because we have a George, so it got really confusing.

"We had a secret dinner and they had their hoods up the whole time."

It's been announced that Cindy and Ian will return to the Square later this summer, with more on the Rose mystery – and why Cindy and Ian are now back together – expected to follow soon.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
