EastEnders offers first look at Knight family's arrival in new trailer

EastEnders has dropped a trailer introducing the newest family to join the residents of Walford.

The trailer shows the Knight family strutting their way into Albert Square with the date of their arrival announced as June 1.

The brand new clip was shared across EastEnders’ official social media channels today (May 19).

The 30-second video is set to the song Feeling Good and sees Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) waving and welcoming the new family as her daughter Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stands by and looks less than impressed.

As previously reported, Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford is joining the show as Anna Knight and looks sure to turn heads.

Striding alongside her in the trailer, viewers get a glimpse of the patriarch of the family, George Knight (Arrow's Colin Salmon), with his other daughter Gina (A Discovery of Witches' Francesca Henry).

The clip sees Anna give a bouquet of flowers to Linda while Gina carries prized pooch Tyson in her bag.

The trailer is captioned: "The Knights are coming. Thursday 1st June."

Linda's eyeroll and awkward body language in the clip did not go unnoticed by fans of the show.

Another said: "I love Linda's facial expression. Like, you for real, mum? lol."

Earlier this year, EastEnders producer Chris Clenshaw teased that the Knights would shake things up, adding: "The arrival of the Knights brings a new dawn to Albert Square."
