EastEnders shares aftermath of Sharon's dramatic arrest

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Sharon Watts faces a future behind bars next week following her arrest for Keanu Taylor’s murder.

The Six feared that their secret could finally be exposed after Sharon was arrested following the discovery of Keanu’s body under the café floor.

Johnny Carter comes to Sharon’s aid after she spends the night at the police station, and he offers to represent her – in a bid to protect mum Linda from facing similar consequences.

With Johnny at her side, Sharon sticks to her story, but the pair falter when the detective offers some new evidence that could mean trouble for Sharon’s case.

Later, Johnny and the remaining women gather to prepare before their upcoming re-questioning by the police.

However, when Johnny later returns from the station without Sharon, Kathy Beale and Suki Panesar come up with another new plan.

Meanwhile, Sharon’s arrest has sent shock waves through the Square, and the residents offer their support to Keanu’s grieving sister, Bernie.

Sharon’s ex, Phil Mitchell grows frustrated at the rumour mill and defends Sharon, but his outburst draws the attention of Felix Baker, who accuses Phil of involvement in Keanu’s death. As things grow heated between the two men, Kat Slater intervenes.

After a conversation with Kat, Phil is given pause, but when he overhears a conversation between Denise Fox and Stacey Slater, he makes an offer to Denise.

With Sharon still behind bars, Linda fears the net is closing in and is horrified when Johnny reveals the other women’s plan regarding the murder weapon.

The news sends Linda into another spiral, and she turns to drink. When George Knight finds her in the barrel store and tries to comfort her, Linda makes a big decision about her future.

Linda summons the remaining women to fill them in on what she’s decided and steels herself as she prepares to tell the police another fabricated story.

However, it looks like Linda’s latest decision could backfire as the police question her about why she withheld the important information. Could Linda’s latest lie lead to the rest of The Six sharing Sharon’s fate?

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
