EastEnders star James Farrar reveals first look at Patsy Palmer back on set

EastEnders star James Farrar has shared a first look at Patsy Palmer's return to the soap.

The actor, who plays Zack Hudson, shared a short behind-the-scenes clip which marks the first time Palmer has been seen on set since the announcement of her return as Bianca Jackson.

Farrar posted on Instagram documenting what he has been up to this month, including a fun video of him and Palmer singing, alongside Shona McGarty, who plays Whitney Dean – Bianca's step-daughter and Zack's partner.

The caption on the post included a sweet tribute to Palmer, as he revealed what it has been like working with her for the first time.

He said: "You're in for a treat… @patsypalmerofficial is back on set and what a joy she is to have around the place on these long days.

"Tish [Leticia Dean] told me Pats and I would get on. Full of life, and gratitude. And absolutely electric as Bianca."

Palmer commented on the post, simply saying, "Always find my tribe…", followed by a string of emojis.

Last week it was announced that Palmer was coming back to EastEnders for the first time since 2019, returning for a short stint this spring which begins with a special episode where Whitney and Zack visit her in Milton Keynes.

"I'm so excited to be reprising the role of Bianca," Palmer said. "EastEnders holds such a special place in my heart so it's always a pleasure to be back."

Palmer's return will at some point lead to Whitney's exit, as last year McGarty announced that she would be leaving the soap in 2024, after 15 years.

On her decision to quit, McGarty said last month: "It's going to be the end of an era, or an earring, as the EastEnders saying goes.

"I've loved my time in Walford, but with the character of Whitney, bless her, she's had some awful things happen to her, and I think she needs a break."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
