EastEnders star Patsy Kensit finishes filming Emma Harding role

EastEnders star Patsy Kensit has completed filming for her role as Emma Harding.

The actress made her debut on the BBC soap last month, with the character attempting to reconcile with her estranged daughter Lola.

Kensit, who has also appeared in soaps Emmerdale and Holby City, took to Instagram to thank the EastEnders cast and crew during her guest stint, writing: “Cannot thank my amazing cast members at the simply awesome experience I’ve had working on @eastenders for being so kind and loving to me.

“Big thank you to the BBC, the producers, writers, crew and the EE family,” she continued. “Costume, makeup, AD’s, Ang at the help desk.. Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my arse off everyday. I love you both… Emma Barton... so so many people… A new adventure begins.”

Emma’s storyline has seen her attempt to reconnect with Lola, who is terminally ill with a brain tumour. Last week, it was revealed that Emma was the subject of domestic abuse, which is why she left Lola during her childhood.

With Kensit’s guest stint due to conclude soon, returning star Neil McDermott has spoken about his upcoming short stint, with the actor set to reprise his role as Ryan Malloy.

“It’s always good to revisit the character too because you’re always wondering where he is and what he’s up to,” he said. “I’ve played Ryan for such a long time so I feel I can just step back in.

“Obviously he’s a bit older now and he’s got a few more grey hairs, but apart from that I just revisit the same sort of thinking as I did when I was here before,” he continued. “I was just excited to revisit the character again. When you’ve been doing EastEnders for a long time like I did, it stays with you for your whole life.”

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
