EastEnders teases devastating news for Alfie Moon

Linda Carter has found herself torn between mum Elaine Peacock and close friend Alfie Moon in EastEnders.
Elaine has just returned to the Square as the new owner of the Vic, and already has a feud brewing with the Panesar family. Viewers know Elaine's lover, George, and his daughters, Anna and Gina, are on their way too.
One of the changes Elaine wants to make at the pub is to get rid of barman Alfie Moon, especially after he turned up late for his shift in Tuesday's (May 16) episode.

Elaine was not at all impressed by Alfie's easy charm or his suggestion of a cocktail night where he could try out some signature drink ideas he'd come up with. While Kat tried to convince Elaine that she should keep Alfie around, the new Vic owner had other ideas when she chatted to daughter Linda in the residence.
"This is about us making new memories together and drawing a line under the past," Elaine insisted. "I respected your wishes when it came to Nish Panesar, as partners, I think it's only fair you extend the same courtesy when dealing with Alfie."
Linda was confused until Elaine made herself clear: "I want you to let him go."

This unfortunate development has come about amid fan theories that Linda and Alfie may eventually get together as a couple.
Cast member Kellie Bright has said she'd prefer to see the two remain friends, explaining: "I think it's really nice to have men and women friendships in a show like ours. Those dynamics usually lead to something else, and actually, I think it is really strong and important to see a platonic relationship between a man and a woman."
