EastEnders’ Yolande Trueman has made a big decision after a dramatic baptism in the show’s latest episode.

Yolande has been struggling since she was sexually assaulted by Pastor Clayton back in April.

After she bravely opened up to husband Patrick about her ordeal, she also told member of the church Levi, who promised to investigate – but when Yolande and Patrick returned from holiday last week, they discovered that Levi had left Walford.

In today’s episode – which airs on BBC Two this evening – Yolande and Patrick prepared to attend Jordan’s baptism, with Chelsea asking them to be godparents last week.

Yolande was anxious about the day, considering Pastor Clayton would be taking the service, but Patrick was on hand to support her.

As everyone gathered to leave for the church, Yolande felt more positive and decided that the day would be a celebration of their family – with Kim’s extravagant hat stealing the show.

Meanwhile, Bernie had decided not to attend the baptism as she was still raw from Keanu’s funeral, but a comment from Jean gave her something to think about.

Yolande felt nervous when she saw Pastor Clayton at the church, and things got worse when Mica’s juice was spilt on Patrick’s suit and proceedings were delayed.

Denise took this time to speak to Yolande, and she asked if something had happened between her and the Pastor, but she didn’t reveal the truth.

Pastor Clayton overheard, and he intimidated Yolande, checking that she hadn’t told Denise anything.

As Yolande hid in the foyer, Bernie arrived, having changed her mind about attending the baptism. They had an emotional chat, and Bernie remarked that she'd always thought Yolande was brave.

Yolande eventually decided to carry on with the baptism as usual, but when Pastor Clayton put his arm around her waist for a photo afterwards, she snapped at him.

She walked out of the church, murmuring that she can’t be a hypocrite, while her family were left concerned.

At the end of the episode, Yolande arrived at the police station, and took a huge step by deciding to report her sexual assault.

After Yolande’s act of bravery, will there be consequences for Pastor Clayton?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
