Eddie Peng will not desert TV for movies

20 Oct – Eddie Peng recently dismissed rumours saying that "Sound of the Desert" will be his final drama, so that he can focus on his movie career.

According to an interview with Tencent Entertainment, the actor recently stated, "I have never limited myself when it comes to work. If there's a good screenplay, a good director, or a role I have never tried before, I would always give it a shot, no matter if it's a movie or a TV drama."

"In the future, I would like to play a comedic role or a villain for a change," he shared.

On his thought about his role as General Wei Wuji in the drama, Eddie said that he perceived the character as a manly man who would fight for his love - though Eddie himself is different in comparison to the character he played.

"When it comes to love, I will leave it up to fate," said the actor, whose character Wei Wuji remains loyal to Xinyue (played by Cecilia Liu) despite being in a love triangle with Mo Xun (played by Hu Ge).

He joked, "Frankly, I think it's quite unfair for Wei Wuji. He remains faithful to Xinyue while she can't make up her mind about him and Mo Xun."

"If I were caught in a similar love triangle in real life, I would probably give in," Eddie added. "I might fight a bit like Wei Wuji, but not as intense as he does. I would give in if there's no other way!"
