Elaine Yiu says previous issue with daughter did not affect work

31 Jul – Elaine Ng admitted that she was excited her first ViuTV drama, "The Republic", is finally airing on television.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the promotional event of the said drama recently, shared that she is grateful to the cast and crew for giving her the chance to work on the drama, and let her play a challenging role as a bereaved mother.

It is noted that Elaine was struggling with personal issues involving troubled daughter Etta while working on the drama last year. But when asked if the situation with Etta affected her performance, the actress said that it had no influence on her work whatsoever.

"But I did learn how to deal with work stress. I believe a lot of people can relate. Sometimes you bring your work stress home and cause unhappiness," she said.

However, Elaine assured that she is learning to control herself and communicate better.

On the topic of her daughter, the actress said that the two of them maintained a good relationship.

"Although we are not in contact every day, the relationship is better than before. The most important thing is to believe that your daughter is healthy and positive," she said.
