Emma Stone Is Back on the Red Carpet — with Her Red Hair! — for Premiere of Her New Film “Poor Things”

The actress stepped out in style and returned to her red hair to celebrate her latest movie

Emma Stone made a glamorous return to the red carpet — and brought back her red hair — for the Poor Things premiere in New York City Wednesday night.

Celebrating the release of her new film, Stone, 35, pulled out all the style stops wearing a custom sheer yellow embellished Louis Vuitton gown with a velvet flower-adorned choker by the label. Her hairstylist Mara Roszak swept her hair — now red again after she spent months as a blonde — into a "youthful, chic, and casual" updo inspired both by Stone's character, as well as her exquisite choker. (The pro used her RŌZ Foundation Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Milk Serum to create the effortless look.)

Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Willem Dafoe were also in attendance.

Written by Tony McNamara, Poor Things is based on the 1992 novel by Alisdair Gray. It is about Bella, a reborn woman played by Stone, who is on a journey of awakening after undergoing an experiment by mad scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter, played by Dafoe. The film was directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, who helmed Stone's 2018 film The Favourite.

"I wanted to play Bella because it felt like acceptance of what it is to be a woman, to be free, to be scared and brave," Stone, 34, said in a preview, calling Poor Things "a very, very funny film."

The movie received an R rating for "strong and pervasive sexual content, graphic nudity, disturbing material, gore and language," as Stone’s character’s sexual journey is heavily depicted throughout the film.

"She's understanding what it is to be a member of society," Stone said. "The more autonomous she becomes, the more challenged these men seem to be by it."

The actress recently hosted Saturday Night Live (as a blonde!) for the fifth time on the Dec. 2 episode, which made her the 24th member of the admired “Five-Timers Club” alongside actors like Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey, who joined Stone on stage.

"It has always been my favorite show and since I started hosting it's also become just a huge part of my life. I've made so many memories here, and so many friends, and I even met my husband at SNL," she said in her monologue. "I'm so honored to be joining the SNL Five-Timers Club."

Poor Things is in theaters Dec. 8.
