Emmerdale airs major cliffhanger over Mack's choice

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has aired a massive cliffhanger over Mackenzie Boyd's choice in the crash story.

Tuesday night's (October 10) double bill centred around Chloe Harris attempting to get her revenge on fiancé Mack and his estranged wife Charity Dingle for cheating behind her back.

Chloe's plan was to drive Mack and Charity out to the moors and then abandon them, but lives ended up hanging in the balance when her plan went off the rails.

As Chloe drove into the middle of nowhere, Charity sensed something was up and finally demanded Chloe pull the car over.

However, as they argued, another car smashed into them — and as the dust settled, Mack realised their vehicle had been pushed towards the cliff's edge.

Mack was able to deftly escape the car as it teetered over the edge, but it looked like any sudden movement could send Charity and Chloe to their deaths.

"Mackenzie, promise me, whatever happens, Reuben knows I love him," Chloe begged.

Mack tried to physically hold the car up long enough for both women to get to safety, but Chloe accidentally hit the wheel while trying to get out.

The car started to fall down the hillside, leaving both women reaching out for Mack to save them. The episode concluded with Mack grabbing the hand of either Chloe or Charity, without the viewer seeing which one it was.

The episode then closed on an ominous note as the car was shown free-falling off the cliff and crashing down below…

Earlier this week, cast member Jessie Elland opened up about the life-or-death dilemma facing Mack in Tuesday's episode.

"Not that I'm biased… but I think he should definitely pick Chloe – she is the mother of his child after all," she pointed out.
