Emmerdale confirms new move for Gail

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has confirmed a new move for Gail, following her return to the village.

Gail, played by Rachael Gill-Davis, made a surprise re-appearance last month, four years after the character as introduced. The arrival came as a surprise to her old friend Ryan Stocks, but the pair were quickly able to hit it off and strike up a romantic relationship.

Upcoming scenes will see things are go from strength to strength for the new couple, with Gail getting herself a job after Ryan gives her a new role at The Woolpack.

The move comes just days after Naomi Walters walks out of her job at the pub, humiliated after being accused by Marlon and Chas of giving her granddad Victor free drinks.

However, the job offer doesn't go down well with Charity and Marlon. They're both less than impressed to learn about Gail's new job in the pub's kitchen.

The pair are quick to question Gail's suitability for the role, as well as Ryan's motivations for giving her the job without first consulting them — but will she be able to prove them wrong?

Gill-Davis originally appeared as Gail back in 2019 as part of a brief love-triangle between her, Ryan and Dawn, with Ryan left mortified after her failed attempt to kiss him.

Speaking about her return to the soap, the actress shared her excitement online at the opportunity to reprise the role.

"Over the moon to finally announce that I have joined the cast of Emmerdale," she wrote on Instagram last month.

"I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at @emmerdale who has made me feel so welcome- I am so so grateful and I am loving every minute of it!"

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
