He and Wendy (Susan Cookson) will form a surprise bond in upcoming scenes when Wendy discovers Liam's unexpected secret - that he is a published author, writing under the pseudonym Anna Le Monde.

The pair will enjoy each other's company when Wendy helps Liam out with the ending of a short story that he is working on.

However, Liam is taken aback when Wendy blatantly lies to her partner Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw), so that she can attend a murder mystery convention with Liam.

With their shared secret potentially set to interfere with Wendy and Bob's relationship, could Liam be heading into dangerous territory by going along with Wendy's lie?

Earlier this year, Emmerdale executive producer Jane Hudson revealed to Digital Spy and other press that the soap would soon be airing a more light-hearted plot for Liam.

"Or should we be saying Dr Love?" she teased. "There's going to be something that I think will take you all by surprise and it starts off as quite a fun story but at the heart of it there is something serious, which will come out further down the line."

Liam is also getting involved in the world of online dating, asking Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), who is facing heartbreak over her own ex Paddy (Dominic Brunt), to sign him up for a dating app.

Could Liam's passion for writing lead him to discover a new love interest too?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
