Emmerdale jail fears for Sam after Eric accident

Emmerdale's Sam Dingle fears for his future next week after a shocking incident involving Eric Pollard.
The long-running soap is exploring the cost-of-living crisis with the Dingle family, who are struggling with anxiety over how to pay their heating bills.
Upcoming episodes see the Dingles start to sneakily steal oil from Eric's oil tank in order to fill up their own.
Next week, the family's troubles get worse as Sam worries about how to keep making contributions towards the upbringing of his baby granddaughter Esther.

Sam suggests that Cain should give Esther's other grandfather Dan Spencer a pay rise to help with the youngster.
Grumpy Cain refuses and he suggests that Sam should think like a true Dingle if he wants to sort out his problems. Sam is inspired as Cain says that he should think outside the box.
Before long, Sam targets Eric again – this time at the local shop.
Sam tries to distract Eric while he steals some baby products for Esther. Eric becomes suspicious over his shifty activities and confronts him.

When Sam flees from the scene, Eric gives chase down Main Street. The incident has worrying consequences as Eric trips and hits his head.
Sam witnesses the accident and fears the worst as Eric is unconscious on the ground.
In the aftermath, Sam fears that he's heading to prison for this disastrous chain of events.
Lydia offers some advice as they try to make a game plan, but will it be enough? And will Eric be okay?
