Emmerdale to revisit Chas's affair story as Kerry returns

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale ties up a loose end from Chas Dingle's affair storyline next week.

Chas braces herself for an angry reaction as she learns that Kerry Wyatt has returned to the village after more than a year away.

Kerry left the Dales in November 2022 after learning that her late partner Al Chapman had been cheating on her in the months leading up to his death.

Although Kerry didn't discover that her so-called friend Chas was Al's other woman, the truth came out a few weeks later after she'd left.

Kerry returns in this Thursday's hour-long episode (March 7) as she arrives back in the village dressed as Cher following time away working on a cruise ship.

Next week, Kerry agrees to be the bigger person and be civil with Chas now they'll have to live in the same area again.

Kerry then eavesdrops as she overhears Chas on the phone with the hospital over her breast cancer.

Chas is surprised when Kerry approaches and offers her some tentative support. It's a major step forward for their friendship and Chas discusses her plans to undergo a double mastectomy.

Laura recently told us: "Every department made it very easy for me – the script, the story, the writing and then the costume. As soon as you put Kerry's clothes on, it's just like: 'Ah, there she is'.

"I've had a long time off work. I was worried that I couldn't do it anymore. You start going: 'Can I walk and talk at the same time? Can I still act?'

"But I felt very blessed when I opened the script and realised how Kerry was coming back and it did make it very easy. The lines are brilliant and the costumes are ridiculously horrendous."

Emmerdale airs the Kerry and Chas scenes on Monday, March 11.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
